Excellent service
Submitted by georgedbain on Sun, 02/21/2010 - 00:00Fast, convenient and big centre with chairs to wait. It's much better than lining up outside the Russian Embassy in the cold rain. I'm glad those days are long gone...
Yes please.
Submitted by drewharryurz on Tue, 11/10/2009 - 12:33Excellent staff, very helpful and knowledgeable.
Very helpful and flexible
Submitted by cycad on Thu, 10/22/2009 - 10:22Very helpful - I'd sent a cheque (not allowed) but was allowed to give credit card number over the phone. Cheque was returned with the passports.
No initiative.
Submitted by paul.maier on Thu, 10/22/2009 - 09:12Consulate staff showed no initiative, were cold and did not assist in making the process easy. After going through my file each time I attended the centre, I returned home 3 times to get 'further' documentation.
Simple
Submitted by materson on Wed, 10/21/2009 - 14:34Visa's aren't done by the Russian Embassy now. VFS do it instead. I've had 4 Russian visa, first two with the Embassy (same day processing for handing it in and 5day turn around for postal and no extra admin cost, so cheaper and faster), last two with VFS, one at the centre and one postal. Postal applications need to send postal order for the cost of the visa (plus admin cost) and also need self addressed special delivery envelope. so in total I think it cost me around £120 for postal visa.
Excellent
Submitted by kieran on Tue, 10/20/2009 - 18:10I was pleased that they called for more information rather than just bouncing the rquest as incomplete. The whole thing was finished up in a very timely fashion.
Improved service... but more expensive
Submitted by jamest on Tue, 10/20/2009 - 15:14Visa processing is now done by a private company, instead of going to the consulate as it used to be. This means the process is more efficient - just! - but also more expensive. At least there's no more queuing outside the consulate from 6am!!
